Astute Solutions Acquires Syman Solutions Group
Move Adds Sales Force Automation Capabilities; Strengthens Management Team
COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 2, 2004 – Astute Solutions, a leading provider of customer interaction
solutions, today announced the acquisition of the Syman Solutions Group, a provider of sales force automation solutions.
Gregory Miller, president of Syman, will assume the role of chief operating officer at Astute Solutions effective
immediately. Both companies are privately held and terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"This acquisition increases our presence in sales force automation, brings new reporting capabilities
to our customer care offerings, and bolsters our management team. We believe it is a move that strengthens our
organizations and will quickly deliver significant value to our customers," said Joseph M. Sanda, president and chief
executive officer of Astute Solutions. Sanda and Miller worked together previously as part of the team at Symix
that developed one of the leading ERP solutions for middle market manufacturers.
The Syman Solutions Group was founded by Miller and is a CRM software and services provider
specializing in sales automation and sales performance metrics. The company is a certified Microsoft CRM provider
and was recognized by Best Software as their Reseller of the Year in 2003 for their performance as an ACT! Certified
Consultants. The company has also developed its own sales reporting system that works with a variety of sales
force automation systems to quantify and track over 300 sales performance benchmarks and trends, enabling improved
sales performance and more accurate measurement of CRM ROI.
In role as COO of Astute Solutions, Miller will assume responsibility for business development,
marketing, sales, professional services and customer support operations. His involvement in the day-to-day
operations of the company will allow Sanda to focus more time on strategy and product development.
Miller has extensive enterprise CRM and ERP experience. He served as president of Symix when
the company went public in 1991 and, in 1993, founded Salesoft, a pioneer in the salesforce automation industry.
Salesoft’s technology was sold to Platinum Technologies and is now part of the Computer Associates product family.
He founded the Syman Solutions Group in 1996.
