Astute Solutions provides training at its corporate offices in Columbus, Ohio throughout the year. These courses are for administrators of PowerCenter™ and the PowerCenter Suite of products. The following courses are available for our customer and partner needs.

Basic ePowerCenter Administration

The purpose of this course is to cover the fundamental concepts of developing and maintaining a PowerCenter or ePowerCenter implementation. The key objective to this course is to give each student exposure to using ePowerCenter and configuring key features including categories, code hierarchies, layouts, and letters. The end-user portion of this course is designed to give users an understanding of the basic features of ePowerCenter and enable them to master the system's core functionality and system layouts. Topics include system navigation, opening/managing cases, performing case and address searches, performing actions such as case transfers, and saving favorites.

The course is a three-day training class taught in a module/lab format. Day 1 of the course will be spent on end-user training and days 2-3 will cover basic administration concepts. The modules include an in-depth demonstration of a specific feature followed by the lab, giving the student a hands-on opportunity to perform the same functions. This course will be taught using the Application Server-based maintenance tool available to all ePowerCenter users, and as of v6.2 all PowerCenter customers are moving to this tool as well. A key component to the course is understanding how a system gets implemented from start to finish. This includes starting with gathering requirements, to completing a system design, to hands-on implementation tasks.

Advanced ePowerCenter Administration

The purpose of this course is to build on the Basic Administration course by covering all the concepts of developing and maintaining a PowerCenter or ePowerCenter implementation. The key objective to this course is to give each student exposure to using and configuring key features including migrations/dependencies, enclosures, letters, surveys, actions, notifications, suggestions, and InfoCenter.

The course is a three-day training class taught in a module/lab format. The modules include an in-depth demonstration of a specific feature followed by the lab, giving the student a hands-on opportunity to perform the same functions. This course will be taught using the Application Server-based maintenance tool available to all ePowerCenter users, and as of v6.2 all PowerCenter customers are moving to this tool as well. A key component to the course is understanding how a system gets implemented from start to finish. This includes starting with gathering requirements, to completing a system design, to hands-on implementation tasks. The Basic Administration Course is a pre-requisite.

PowerCenter Application Server Reports 2-Day Course

This course introduces the latest in reporting functionality using the PowerCenter Application Server. PowerCenter Application Server Reports may be accessed via ePowerCenter or PowerCenter! PowerCenter Application Server reporting is very robust and versatile, combining much of the functionality from traditional PowerCenter reports into just seven extremely powerful reports. Students will be introduced to the web-based user interface, trained on standard reporting concepts such as time frame and filter definitions, and shown how to decide which report to use for different needs throughout their companies. In addition, students will learn how to interpret report results and find opportunities to increase the productivity and quality of their business. See the latest enhancements to reporting and become acquainted with the platform for future reporting updates.

Normalized Reporting
For experienced PCAS Reports users, this session will teach you how to create reports by normalizing against various volume data such as products/items sold, customers served, number of flights, etc. Normalization gives a more accurate evaluation of your report results. This session will show how to import normalized data sets and then how to create normalized Frequency Reports. Get hands-on experience on each step of the process and incorporate this impressive functionality into your reports today!
The Normalized Reporting course is a 3 hour training class taught in a live conferencing format via Webex. The Normalized Frequency Report requires ePowerCenter or PowerCenter Version 6.2.1 . PowerCenter Application Server Reports is a pre-requisite.
